Three Faces

Time has passed and some things have changed. SO, I decided to redraw my three faces as they are now.

Here is the old one:

The demon has since grown more horns and even sprouted some hard, bone-like wings (yes, she can fly with them); she doesn't lash out as much...kind of refined now.
She was the first I redrew, so that's why she's still in pencil. On the very first page of my latest sketchbook, too ^^

D.B. the demon, progeny to Asmodeus. Long black hair, deep chocolate brown eyes. She has horns growing from her ribs, too. Just can't see them here cuz her arms are blocking them. Those bony, horn wings? Yes, she can fly quite well with them. She has little to no clothing on, if not roaming completely naked. Her consort is Kal, and his pictures will be coming up shortly.

If you know Faerie Runes, you'll see that in the upper left corner, that is her full name. Word of caution, don't invoke me. I will NOT be a happy camper. -.-

The faerie has grown into herself more, with a deeper understanding of herself and what she is capable of (though, she is still learning).
E.K.V. the Unseelie Sidhe. Long, milk silver-white hair rarely pulled back; yellow eyes. I did have her name written in the corner with Faerie Runes as well, but the scan blurred it a bit because of the book, so I just took it out.

She is mated/paired with D.P. (most of you know as Plutus), and they have 15 kids (will explain ALLL that mess later). She has more balance since the last time, hence why her eyes have their true color. Still loves to frolick, but she knows more about herself and her abilities, and practices as often as she can to hone her skills. Often she is called the Seer amongest the court, commonly is "Lady Seer". The middle child of Mab Andais, Queen of the Unseelie Court, and Liam Eamon, consort to M.A., her older brother is Defoe and her younger sister is M.B.V. There is much history of their family in general, and, as with the children, the explanation will come later.

The wolf is not as hot-headed, but she listens, observing everything.
X. The Wolf. As with the drawing of EKV, I had her name written in Faerie Runes, but cut it out due to the quality of the scan. Long light silver hair that turns to black at the tips; cool gray eyes.

She is no longer as hot-headed as she used to be. Of all my forms, she is the most level-headed and calm. She had grown wise over the years, and a silent observer. She is still Alpha of the Pack, and she keeps it running smoothly. Her mate is Gabriel (more information later), and he compliments her quite nicely. If she has to, she will be ruthless; get on her good side, and she'll treat you like family. The Trinity are still her betas, and they are all fine with that.

I'm still not sure if I'm going to color this or not, seeing as how when I originally drew this on October 1, I just had the urge to draw. The faerie is the base form, but lately, they've all been in harmony. When they switch over within me, it used to put me off on just how smoothly they exchanged the reigns. But I've since gotten used to it, and I look at it as an achievement: all it is is harmonized balance. And I'm glad that I have it now. Also, if you look at their hair... When I drew them separately, their part was on the opposing side, but it didn't feel like it was still there. Their parting mimics my own, which is now on the right; so, while the separate drawings are still up-to-date in appearance, they are fully up-to-date in all here in this combined picture.

Since drawing this on the first of this month, some of my friends in my group have asked me to draw them their forms as well. Brittie, Jamie, and Jason are next. The first two because they are my RL friends and part of the group; the third because he is my darling, and if I'm going to draw my forms, of COURSE I'm going to draw whom they are paired/mated/bonded to. ^ w ^

Love and light, darlings!

What I used:

  • Prismacolor Premiere fine line markers (01, 03, 05, 08) and the chisel tip marker
  • black sharpie (for the frame)

It's Been A While...

Yesterday, I found out that someone very close to the family, my Aunt Dottie, had recently passed away. Thing is, though, although we found out yesterday, she had actually passed on Cinco de Mayo--May 5th. Her family hadn't told us until yesterday when we all tried calling her to see how she was and that we would be coming to see her next month. I think it was horribly rude of her family not to tell us of her passing, especially because she was so close to us... I remember as a child, when I still lived in New York, that I was always at Aunt Dottie's house...

However, the past five or six days, there was this smell that I always associate with Aunt Dottie because I would smell it every time we went to see her at her house. That smell? I smelled it here at home in Maryland, in brief whiffs, and in walking around the house. I smelled that scent...I smelled my Aunt Dottie. I would also see this muted white blur of a form just out of my peripheral. At the time, I hadn't known...I hadn't known it was her. And then yesterday the call came from my grandmother, informing us of her passing and that she was headed over to the house. I told my Auntie Paulette and my mum; my auntie was crying when she called. And I had wanted her to meet my husband-to-be...I wanted her to know that she would be welcoming in another addition to our growing family...*deeps breath*

Last night, I went to bed earlier than I normally would. Two dreams, both with my husband-to-be in them. The first I think I had morning sickness and I was out with a close friend visiting some people. He wasn't there yet, but was on his way because he had to take care of something. Brittie (one of my close friends) sat with me as I puked into a toilet. There had been other spots in the apartment of the people we were visiting were I hadn't quite made it to the bathroom, so she had been nice and had cleaned them while I puked in the toilet. Hannah and Ronie (who we were visiting) had left to get something from the store, I think, and I had also lost some blood and had changed my clothes. I had heard something and Brittie came to the bathroom smiling as I managed to stop puking and washed my face. Behind her, Jason (my husband-to-be) came in, smiling at me. I'd never been so happy...he looked as he did now, but his hair was grown out, much longer. He said "I told you I'd be here" and I just hugged him tightly as he picked me up and spun me around--which resulted in me rushing back to the toilet after he set me down. But the sickness soon stopped after that, and Brittie and finished the last of my puke just as Hannah and Ronie returned.

The second dream, it had Jason in it again, but him as he is now. Our family members were cooking together, and he got to meet my Uncle Cinto (one of my favorite uncles; he full-heartedly promotes my artwork). Jason's mother (my mother-in-law) was cooking with my Grams and talking with Auntie Paulette and just big familyness. Hovering around and in between was the same muted white blur that I saw the past few days...but she had more of a form... It was my Aunt Dottie... I could hear her voice telling me how happy she was, and how proud of me she was...I can still hear her voice, clear as day. She told me that she had always wanted me to be happy... Later, in the dream, my Grams had asked if I wanted to start some job down in Florida somewhere. I told her I wasn't sure and that I'd have to talk about it with Jason. She said okay, but then I saw us driving to Florida to check out the houses in the area...

When I woke, I had never felt more happy or more at peace...I told Jason all of it, and he told me that he actually used to have his hair that long. Close to 18 inches at one point... When I got to the part about Aunt Dottie and my mother-in-law, I remembered something else. Aunt Dottie's form was close to my mother-in-law, kind of like she was shadowing her. And thinking now, my mother-in-law is very supportive and messages me often. It gives me a warm feeling. I think it was Aunt Dottie's way of saying that she was similar to her and also embodied some of her spirit, in a sense.

On a side note, things are picking up in my classes, and I'm still trying to do commissions, be it art or literary. Jason and I talked about places to live after his enlistment is over, and also places we'd like to visit. Less than four weeks, and he'll be here, along with my Maid-of-Honor who is also one of my closest friends! She's definitely earned her billet, that much is certain ^w^ Things can only get better from here!

Blessed be!

Yet again

Blessed be, everyone. I've had another dream. In this one, I've learned to tell the signs, in nature and in my garden, of when I was pregnant. A collection of mushrooms would grow a certain way. It would start off as one central one, and she would swell up, having others start growing around her of an assortment of sizes, in a circle around her. Then some would grow FROM her... In the dream, I tried to take a picture of it to show Jason, but I guess it had sprung up from my phone (or what used to be my phone) because a large diamond crystal (clear) sprang up from inside of the central mushroom. It blew my mind. So I had tried to Skype call him on my laptop to show him. Then I woke up...

I....hmm. I'm still trying to make sense of this..

more little ones...

Yesterday, i had the implanon taken out finally; it was time to. for those who don't know, the implanon is a form of birth control that stays in your arm for 3 to 5 years, depending on what you get, and is a small rod that you could hold between your forefingers.
now, i've been bedridden all day yesterday since my appt, and i've had a dream when i woke up. about children, again. the second dream. but this is more precise. i saw days, dates, numbers, dialation numbers, down to the decimal. i saw the month (may 30-31), i got the feeling of twin boys. and my soon to be husband was right there with me, telling me to calm and to relax and stuffs as it happened. i saw the hospital room and everything...7.5 i think was one of the dialation numbers...and i woke before 8:15 am this morning...

jason says that we'll take it one step at a time, and my Sister says that I can at least prepare mentally for them...

i'm just...i dunno...not surprised as much anymore???

is it bad luck to wear the ring now? since he didn't put it on my finger?
my mum said that it was...
but i don't feel like anything is wrong with wearing it came in the mail today...
if anything, i feel like i'm the one doing it because i'll be putting his ring on him when he gets here...
when i put it on, it warms within seconds and i feel it syncing up with my body...and it feels strange if i take it off again...

Mind Just Exploded

Shortly after choosing some baby names, i fell asleep. and soon in my sleep, i dreamt of a child. my child. of one of the names we had chosen. when we came up with the names, i got the feel of some of them, like what sign they would be born under, or how they would be as they grew. but for one of the names, Aisling, i felt that, if not the oldest child, she would be the oldest daughter...but i feel like she will be the first born...

i had a dream with her in it, 6 years old, and i was showing some motherly love and protection...

the time i woke from the dream was about 7:15 am this morning (August 1); I was born at 7:15 pm on April 15. i talked with my husband to be about it, and he said "well, honey, you are more intuitive than i maybe...."

then one of his guardians (likes to speak in riddles) said that if she would be born on this day and time at some point, that means that she'll be conceived sometime in november...

i come back stateside for a little bit in november, to finish packing the rest of my things to move to japan. november is also my husband to be's birthday month

and if this ALL is the case, then this gives root to some of the previous dreams that i've had of he and i visiting my family during christmas and us trying to figure out how to tell them that i'm pregnant.

so, after all of this speculating and thinking, all i say to him is, "the signs, man...ALL THESE FRIGGIN SIGNS!!!!"

handfasting; marriage; wedding; babies; children; surprises...for the past year....

am i overanalyzing? what say you?

This post is going to be pretty short. In Georgia for the week, visiting some family. I had planned to do some budget recalculations and self-healing this week. So far, none of that has happened. Just...lots of stress...

Just had a dream

zombie outbreak dream. think [.REC] 1, 2, and 3. But they could SMELL the blood. Even if it was just a cut on your TONGUE. And they were fast, if need be. They could also manipulate through things and shadows to get to the source of the blood....

I haven't had an zombie apocalypse or outbreak dream in almost two years...
This one, however, was definitely an outbreak similar to [.REC] 1, 2, and 3...

I am open for commissions, and the prices are negotiable/flexible. Only thing is that I'm not too good with backgrounds or landscapes. If you want to look at some of the artness that I have online, is where you can find me ^w^ also on my fb page, too

Speaking of FB, I have now made a page for my online boutique, All Things Enchanted. Business has been really slow the past month, and I'm in need of munies, so I'm hoping to get everything up and running ASAP. Rent, car payments, phone bill, wedding stuffs...*sighs*
As I've mentioned on my FB shop page ( ) I have tons of coupons to aid you guys' purchases and whatnots, and I'm open to adding your suggestions to my store,

Love you all!

***I'll also be moving to Iwakuni before the year is out, depending on how fast the paperwork goes...

Random Update!!!

Hai everyone! So, as to recap this past week, I've developed a schedule to working out with Kenzie and my sister Tahtiana: Monday is Running; Tuesday is Tennis; Wednesday is Sports; Thursday is Exploring/Trail Walk; and Friday is Wii/X-Box(all the dancing/workout/Zumba games that we have).

I've also dyed my hair a type of red
and I've been lazy and haven't straightened these curls yet ^w^
Also, for some reason, I've been waking earlier and earlier. But I still go to sleep extremely late (about four in the morning). Sometimes I've woken at 7 in the morning, other times at 6 in the morning. Today, I woke at 5...and had went to bed two hours earlier.

My summer math course is finally almost done! So I'll be through with math before the fourth of July *happy dance* I've been working on typing up the rest of my journals..still going to take a while because they start as far back as 2007, some even farther. UnU BUT I CAN DO EET!!! ^w^ And I just ordered a black scrying mirror! SOOOOO excited! >w< It's round. Not square or rectangular. I dunno why, but cornered ones unnerve me. Soooo, that's why I have a round one...

I've also tried on those L.A. colors deluxe eyelashes I got a while back. Just to try them out for the first time. I think I did okay, but it definitely still needs some work!
Please excuse the fugliness and unexperienced makeup that I did. Can you even see them? Mayhaps I should've taken a different picture...*shrugs* Oh yeah, that loli wig? Used to be really long...Hacked at it. Not really. My friend cut it for me ^w^ I think it looks better this way.

And I've done some character sketchings for Jason's Dark Innocence project that we are now working on together ^w^ my artness, his story. Pretty excited about it. AND I HAVE A NEW WORKING PHONE YOU GUYS!!!!! *spazzes* I cannot tell you HOW HAPPY I AM to have a serviced phone again. *flails around happily* To call! And text! And HAVE BARS IN PLACES AND USE THEM!!! >w< If you'd like to text me and stuffs, you can message/email me ^w^ CONNECTIONS ARE WONDERFUL THINGS!!! And I love communication...strange, because sometimes I'm antisocial, but YES!!!

And this morning, Jason pointed out that he could see the pointed tip of my ears ^w^ Yes, the tips of my ears have a point to them. My hair usually covers them, though. In elementary school and middle school, everyone used to take notice of them. I guess I hid them in high school....*shrugs* in college, it was half n half. I dunno. But yeah! I has pointy ears ^w^

Methinks that's all for now...LOVE YOU GUYS! ^w^

Shot down again...

Been feeling pretty good today, on a faerie high. Cleaned the house, did my chores, doing my homework, have my own boutique. Feelin' pretty good, as I said. Went outside to the portal, left something for the fae. Keep in mind, the portal is between the two sheds out back. I left some sparkling Verdi in a little bottle and left some grapes out there. I know they like it.

My mum told me I should have washed dishes last night. Tahtiana asked why I left the grapes and the bottle out. When I told her why, she looked at me like and said "seriously, Kiah?" then shut the door to my room on her way out of it. Mum said a boutique doesn't mean anything, and told me to keep looking...

Not a lot of positive energy coming from them...

big immediate fam sketch

took me about three hours. but holey crap, I finished the sketching *dies*
*sniffles* OuO amg...just...amg...why we have so many...kinda hard to explain...
but there are the little ones, looking as how they would appear in this realm at the age they are...and the darling suggested that I draw us as we are now, soo...yeah... and yes...there are fifteen of them...

What's New!

So, the past few days I've been catching up on my math class and toying with the idea of getting a little more serious about the gyaru style, as far as hair and makeup go. Also, I've been doing some more future planning with the fiance and having some family fun with my mum and sisters this past weekend. I also noticed that the fae decided to take me up on my welcome offer, so to speak, as mushrooms have been sprouting up all over the yard just as they used to before I left fo join the Marine Corps. ^w^ That made me happy. As well as seeing the birds that Mum and Pa (see my "Unseelie" post) like to send to watch me outside my window or if I leave the house ^w^

What I've also been doing lately is consuming a few yellow rose petals before I settle in to read at night and go to sleep. It started with me researching what I could do with rose petals and what properties did they have. I've lots of abilities and like to expand my skills and knowledge on them, so when I read that they also help with dreams and what not, I thought: "why not? I've been having them a lot more over the past few months. Let's see what happens." So that night I made tea with a few of the perals, added some honey and sugar and drank it. Chewing the petals themselves...not tasty...not in the least...soooo, I just downed them and continued reading my Shamanic Traditions book (I'll explain that later in another journal). After a while, my body did the usual signs of sleepy time, but when I read, it was like I started to space out and my body got slightly jumpy like it does whenever my astral gets slammed back into my physical body at times. At first I was, WTF BODY, but then I just closed the book and went to sleep. The next morning, I wrote down everything I remembered from my dream. So now, I've decided to have a petal or two every night then read book, and when I get to that point again, call it a night and let it happen. Also it helps in my healing process that I'm going through *facepalm* The white barn owl that I see when I retreat within to heal myself says it's good with also pinpointing the areas that I need to work on; as well soooooo *thumbs up* just feels right.

But, what I also find interesting is that how closely Jason and I are linked/bonded, and he's begun to have similar dreams too. ^w^ That makes me happeh =w=

This awesome beauty right there *points to picture* should be arriving as early as the 25th! I'm so excited!!! *spazzes* so many awesome ideas I have for this one >w<

But yeah, this one I'm going to test out as my second "gyaru" wig, I suppose one would say...and it just looks flipping awesome!

Tis all for now! *goes back to doing homework*

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese type of spiritual practice also used for stress reduction and relaxation. It is a technique that also helps promote healing either for self or for other people. It is characterized as a practice of "laying of hands".

The healing powers of the technique are based on the idea that there is an unseen "life force energy" that flows through each person. This life force is said to be the reason why people are alive.

When one's life force energy is low, then people are likely to get sick or feel weak. If the life force is high, people feel healthy and happy.

Reiki is also a form of meditation used as a type of therapy for treating physical, emotional, and mental diseases.

The name Reiki is taken from two Japanese characters that describe energy itself. The words "rei", which means "unseen" or "spiritual" and "ki" which means "energy" or "life force" are combined to become Reiki. In English, its meaning is usually given as "universal life energy".

It was Mikao Usui who was known to have developed Reiki in 20th century Japan. Story has it that Usui received the ability of healing after going through three weeks of fasting and meditating on top of Mount Kurama. Practitioners of Reiki use a technique similar to that of the laying on of hands.

This action is said to promote the channeling of "healing energy" to another person. The energy flows through the palms and brings along with it healing powers that can be used for self-treatment as well as for treating others.

Reiki is a simple, natural as well as safe method of dispensing spiritual healing and self-improvement. It is said to be effective in providing alternative treatment for virtually every known illness and malady. Not only that, Reiki also helps create an added beneficial effect, that of spiritual healing. This method is also said to work well when combined with other medical or therapeutic techniques to help relieve side effects and promote recovery.

Reiki, although seen as a very powerful healing technique, is amazingly simple to learn. Reiki and the ability to use it effectively cannot be taught in the usual sense. The skill is said to be "transferred" to the student during a Reiki class.

Although the practice of Reiki may be spiritual in nature, it is not considered as a religion. There are no set of beliefs that one should learn about before learning to practice the technique known as Reiki. The practice does not depend on any form of dogma.

It will work whether the student believes it or not. But it is said that the practice of Reiki helps people to keep in touch of their spiritual selves rather than the intellectual concept that it provides.

The practice of Reiki also aims to develop and promote living in harmony with others. Aside from practicing Reiki and its principles, the founder of the Reiki system, Mikao Usui also recommends the practice of simple ethical ideals that can lead to peace and harmony among people.

Getting to know what Reiki is may help people not only become a healing channel but also a tool to promote peace among other people.

Reiki Therapy

Reiki therapy involves a lot of elements in just about every alternative healing practice. This is because it uses spiritual healing, meditation, aromatherapy, naturopathy and homeopathy among others to make the person or another feel better.

But what makes this Japanese healing art so unique and popular is that it involves the transfer of energy in order to restore balance in the life force.

Reiki therapy has several basic effects. These include deep relaxation, detoxification of the system, the increase of the vibration or frequency of the body, providing new vitality in the form of healing energy and removal of negative energy.

In Reiki therapy, the practitioner places his or her hands over the patient. The recipient should be lying down so he or she is completely at ease and ready to welcome the positive energy.

Reiki therapy begins from the head and then works all the way down to the feet. Ideally, this should be placed 2 to 4 inches away from the body of the patient. The hands must be cupped with the fingers closely bonded together and the thumbs pulled upward against the hand so the positive energy that you possess is directed to the one who needs it.

For this to work, both the healer and the person being healed need to take an active part in the healing process. One sends forth the energy while the other should openly receive it.

The strength of Reiki therapy depends on the level of the healer.

Are there risks in Reiki therapy?

The answer is no. The only thing the patient can do is block the positive energy that is being given but this does not cause him or her harm in any way.

Another thing people should remember is that Reiki therapy works in conjunction with western medicine and other practices. It is simply designed to help the person heal especially for those who need to undergo surgery.

Reiki therapy is not successful after only on session. This has to be done several times until the patient is completely healed and this can only happen when the body becomes in tune with itself. A practitioner can even do this to him or herself to reduce the anxiety and stress that happen everyday, as people live a happier life if there is both harmony and peace.

The strength of the Reiki energy is also dependent on one’s thoughts. Negative thoughts will not do much to improve the situation so you must think positive in order for this to work.

If you have a headache, are fighting stress or an addiction, Reiki energy can help you deal with the problem. You just have to think positive and believe.

In a stressed out world like the one we have today, more and more people are opting for different treatments instead of using medications to help them achieve a more stable level of thoughts and emotions. This is because they have noticed that the more they depend on medication and other western medicine treatments, the more they feel weak, stressed out, and sick.

So, instead of suffering from the side effects of various medications, many people opt for a more traditional treatment such as Reiki healing.

Aside from healing a person's spirit, Reiki also helps a person to balance his or her prioties in life to achieve a more relaxed and content life.

The Many Faces of the God

The Many Faces of the God

Like the Goddess, the God is often personified with a name and an image. For example, Greeks referred to their male deity as Pan. Pan was the half-man and half-god. He was called upon to make the land fertile and to help with the flocks.
In England, the God is known as the Green Man or ‘Jack-in-the-Green’. The Green Man often has horns and wears a mash of oak leaves. He represents all of the spirits in the forest’s trees and plants. He is responsible for bringing rain to create life.
Romans and Celts worshipped Cernunnos, the male horned god. His image is a man with serpent legs and the head of a bull. Like the Wiccan god, he represented fertility and rules the hunt.

The Many Faces of the Goddess

The Many Faces of the Goddess

The Goddess was given different personifications in different cultures. The Goddess has three stages of life: the maiden, the mother, and the crone. This is referred to as the ‘Goddess Trinity’. These life stages each correspond to the phases of the moon. The maiden represents the waxing moon, the mother, the full moon, and the crone, the waning moon. There is also a dark side to the Goddess. She is the ruler of the underworld where one goes after death to face judgement. It is also a place of rest for the bodiless soul.
The Greek goddess Artemis, known to the Romans as Diana, was considered the maiden within the GT. As the goddess of the hunt, she represented power. Selene, the mother within the trinity, was the Greek goddess who ruled over the moon. She is depicted as a woman in a chariot, flying through the night.
The crone of the trinity is Hecate, ruler of the moon’s dark side. She destroyed life and was responsible for nightmares. She was portrayed as a woman with three heads, to represent life’s crossroads.

Lean Times

Lean Times

The first three months after your birthday tend to be a productive, busy time. You’re actively involved with the outer world, there are many demands on your time and energy, but things get done.
The second three months are still productive, but less active. This is a good time to assess what you’ve been doing in the last three months, and to fine-tune.
The third quarter, beginning six months from your birthday, is usually a time of harvest. You’re reaping the benefits of that first three months. You feel prosperous.
The fourth quarterbeginning about three months before your birthday—can be stressful. You may find that you tire more easily, that you’re more irritable. If little things that go wrong during this period aren’t fixed, they tend to become bigger problems.

Cycle one
On your birthday, write down what you would like to have happen in the next three months. Be specific, read it aloud, then post it where you will see it frequently. Everytime you read what you’ve written, feel that reality around you. After you feel comfortable with what you’ve written, burn the paper, thus releasing your desire. Do something special on your birthday to celebrate.
Cycle two
On the day that marks the beginning of the second cycle, do the same as you did on your birthday. Since your energy might be a little lower, light 2 red candles b4 you read aloud.
Cycle three
On the date the third cycle begins, do the same as before, only this time light a gold candle to represent prosperity and a violet candle to represent your gratitude for all good that has come your way. This is the harvest period.
Cycle four
On the date the fourth cycle begins, do the same as before, only light a red candle, a gold candle, and a violet candle, then read aloud. On the day this period began do something special for yourself and extend yourself to someone else by doing a good deed.

Magickal Tools (Some)

Making Your Magickal Tools

Athame (Air)
A double-edged knife called the athame is one of the most important tools in the practice of white magick. The handle of this knife is usually black and the blade may be made of steel or stone, such as obsidian. Iron is to be avoided. Experiment with how the shape of the handle fits in your hand.
Ideally, if you can, you should make your own athame. If you do, remember that in its making you should expose the knife to all the elements—pass it through fire, immerse it in water, plunge it into the earth, and expose it to the air. If you decide to buy a knife from the store, you can make it more personal by attaching leather, some feathers and beads.
Athames are used to cast a Circle and symbolize male energy.

Wand (Fire)
A magickal wand is made from wood and there are traditions as to what is the best wood for wands—ash is a popular choice. Wood that is struck from a tree by lightning is known to be particular potent.
You may find your wand anywhere from a hardware store to a forest. A broken branch from a tree in your favorite place can be whittled down. However, it is important that you do not pull branches off trees as this will create bad energy.
The size of your wand is a matter of preference, although a convenient and traditional length is 21 inches (53 centimeters). Your wand can be decorated with runes or a dragon carved along the length of a wand with the head and teeth at the tip.
The wand is used to direct magickal energy in a ritual.

Chalice (Water)
There is a tradition that you must be given your own chalice. Chalices can be made from pewter, glass or any other watertight material. Because of their nature, chalices tend to be store bought but you may know of a glassblower who could craft a chalice for you, perhaps with swirls of blue and green.
A chalice is representative of female energy. Most Circles include, before closing, a small ceremony called “wine and cakes.” The wine and food must be blessed before partaking. Your chalice may be used for the wine. By dipping your athame into your chalice you are blessing the wine.

Pentacle (Earth)
Made of clay, metal, or wood, the pentacle represents the earth element. The shape of the pentacle must be circular and can either be a flat disc, such as a ceramic plate, or a sphere, such as a stone or crystal ball. Balls of jasper, hematite and tiger’s eye (which contains iron), just to name a few, are thought to be particularly powerful. If you wish to decorate your disc or ball, the sign of the pentagram is appropriate.
The pentagram is a five-pointed star. In white magick the point of the star is always at the top, representing life. To draw the star, start from the top and move down to the left, then up to the right, then across to the left, then down to the right, and finally, up to the left. If your pentacle is a plate, it may be used in the wine and cakes ceremony to hold the food over which you make the sign of the pentagram as a sign of blessing.

An amulet is a protective device worn either on the body or placed at the entrances of homes and tombs and can take the form of an image or a symbol. The Egyptian ankh, the cross and the Star of David are all used as amulet designs. The Roman philosopher Pliny described three types of amulets-- protective amulets, those used for treatment of illness, and those containing medical substances. Abbess Hildegarde of Bingen had a recipe for an amulet to protect the wearer from poison, which involved drying out the heart of a venomous snake, the remains of which could be worn in a small container around the neck. In white magick, the most powerful amulet is the five-pointed star—the pentagram, with one tip pointing upwards.

It is thought that the words or sigils used on talismans set up a delicate vibration that serve to help its wearer attain special powers. Sigils- a special sign that incorporates a form of magickal energy- include a design or image intended to symbolize a deity or a magickal concept and they served as a focus for calling upon that deity or spirit. Sigils may be used as amulets or as talismans.
Unlike amulets, which passively protect its wearer, talismans contain supernatural powers that confer special powers to the wearer, such as clairvoyance or the power to make fortunes. The most famous talisman was the Philosopher’s Stone, which allegedly could cure all illness and turn base metals into gold

Black-Eyed Kids?

The internet has made it so that it is much easier to stay up to date with paranormal events. Sadly, it has also made it easier for people to spread many false claims and hoaxes. Because of this, it is difficult to tell when someone is contributing to a lie that has already fooled many readers or if the account is truthful.

One such phenomena is the growing number of stories regarding so-called Black Eyed Kids. The stories certainly reek of an almost mythological stench, but there are so many similar accounts that it is hard to look past. The events have been quietly gaining momentum in forums and paranormal websites, so quiet that many people are still not familiar with them. The Black Eyed Kids reports are scattered around the internet and chances are that a great deal of them are fabrications derived from the first reported accounts. But if the Black Eyed Kids (BEKs) are real, then they certainly deserve a great deal of attention. And for those that are not familiar with the phenomena, a profile might be handy in order to get familiar with the subject.

A Brief Background

The first well documented and discussed account came from a journalist named Brian Bethel in 1998. In his story, two children (not quite teens, but close) approached him as he sat in his car while parked in a parking lot. At first glance, the kids looked normal, wearing clothes that were in style and had a pale, olive colored skin. In acknowledging the two boys, Bethel was overcome with a peculiar fear that he describes in his account as: "I could feel fight-or-flight responses kicking in. Something, I knew instinctually, was not right, but I didn't know what it could possibly be."

Claiming that they were on their way to see a movie but had left their money at home, the two boys asked Bethel for a ride back to their house. When Bethel did not allow them into his car, the kids seemed to get annoyed and kept asking for a ride. As Bethel's fear and panic increased, he actually found himself wanting to open the door. However, when Bethel noticed their eyes, a primal fear took over and momentarily paralyzed him; the kids had coal black eyes, completely lacking pupils and irises.

As if sensing that their chance for admittance into the car was coming to and end, the kids got more urgent and demanding. Bethel was finally able to push his fear momentarily aside and drive away. And while his story sounds like something out of a horror novel, there are other accounts to back it up. (Bethel's account can be found at [])

Most accounts occur at the individual's home. There is a knock on the door and on the other side, waiting patiently, is a kid of roughly 12 to 17 years of age. Their dress is usually common for the time and they seem rather normal. But then the sudden fear and the sense of wrongness sinks in. And then of course, there are the eyes.

The BEKs will always ask to be invited inside. Sometimes they claim that they need to use the telephone because they are lost, or their car broke down just up the road. If anyone has ever let them inside, there are no credible accounts. Almost all people who have run-ins with BEKs are too overcome with an unexplained fear and end up turning them away. This only infuriates the kids and they appear to grow impatient and more demanding that they be let in. Also, they will never actually leave until the person they have approached has either closed the door or left the scene of the encounter.

Rational Theories

There are a few obvious explanations that can be used to debunk these odd stories. The black eyes, for example could be nothing more than contact lenses. (Solid black contacts are available). But still, how does that explain the unnerving sense of fear and despair in those that encounter the BEKs?

The most likely scenario is that the few convincing reports were the results of overactive imaginations and that the string of reports that followed were nothing more than copycat falsified stories used for attention or fun. But most accounts seem to be passionate, and people that have encountered the BEKs seem to be genuinely frightened even after the encounter.

These are the easier approaches to the subject, the logical theories that easily sweep aside such foolish notions. But if even half of the numerous reports that are hidden around the internet are true, these logical approaches could be dangerous.

Not-So-Rational Theories

The most bizarre contradiction to the story is the fact that BEKs are said to give off a frightening vibe. Those that meet them claim to feel threatened, panicked and even disoriented. Some believe that this could be a result of their black eyes, maybe some sort of hypnotic suggestion used as an attempt to convince the person to let them inside their house or vehicle.

But then there is the question of why they don't just storm through the door without an invitation. Surely such a menacing figure would be capable of such an intrusion. A common theory that explains this is that the BEKs are some sort of evil spirit, maybe even a demon. The most recognizable figure that needs an invitation before entering a house is a vampire. While it is certainly a big stretch to claim that these kids are blood sucking fiends, we must remember that the idea of an evil presence needing some sort of invitation before entering a house (or even a human being) is a longstanding belief in many religions.

Another question: If BEKs are demons or some other evil entity, why take the form of a child? Perhaps they feel that caring people would have no qualms about allowing a lost or distressed child into their home to use the phone? The idea of a needy child knocking on one's door is certainly more appealing than a strange man.

There are others that think the BEKs are extraterrestrial simply because of the ability to inflict fear so quickly (ie; mind control) and the black eyes. Obviously, being that all accounts are so far only available through the internet, there is no tangible proof. So these theories are exactly that…theories.

At a Glance

Whether or not you buy into the mythos of the BEK phenomena, it is certainly a topic that leaves an unsettling feeling with the reader. But the more accounts you read, it seems that there might actually be something to it all, something that gives it a bit of slight credibility rather than dismissing it as an urban legend.

In closing, here are a few things that seem to be constants in BEK reports. Whether you use this information for your interest in the subject or debunking strategies is up to you.

1. Almost all cases occur at night or late afternoon just around dusk. Is the preference of night an instinctive strategy for the BEKs? Does our instilled fear of the dark somehow assist them with their scare tactics? Or maybe it is simply easier for them to approach their target undetected while moving about in the night.

2. The need to be invited in, as stated before, certainly reminds us of vampires. And while I personally don't believe in vampires, I can easily entertain the notion that the BEKs might be evil spirits or demons. If, that is, they are real to begin with.

3. The black eyes are obviously their most striking feature. It has been argued on several forums that if the BEKs are so sinister and crafty, why don't they just wear sunglasses to cover up this demonic feature? An easy counter to this is the fact that their eyes seem to be the source of the overpowering fear that people experience. Therefore, by obstructing their eyes with sunglasses, any sort of hypnotic suggestion via eye contact would be eliminated.

I'll be among the first to admit that the phenomena is a far fetched and unbelievable one. But as several internet forums indicate, it has many people intrigued. Still, as is the case with many other series of unexplained events that are spread across the net, the BEKs will be nothing more than internet hearsay until there is undeniable proof.
